Quickstart

Create an account, grab an API key from your dashboard, and verify your first email:

Each verification costs 1 credit. Verdicts are valid, invalid, risky, or unknown, with a reasons array explaining every call.

Authentication

Pass your API key in the Authorization: Bearer header (or X-API-Key). Create and revoke keys in your dashboard — keys are hashed at rest and shown only once.

The anonymous tier needs no key: 10 checks per day per IP, via the homepage widget or POST /api/verify without a key.

Verify one email

The response returns a job_id. Local checks (syntax, disposable, MX, role) complete immediately; the live SMTP handshake runs in the background via our prober fleet.

Bulk CSV

POST /api/verify/bulk — multipart form with a file field. First column should contain the addresses (a header row is skipped automatically). Up to 10,000 rows per upload.

The download returns email,verdict,reasons,smtp_status,smtp_code per row.

Jobs & results

GET /api/jobs/:id — poll until status is done. Each check includes:

• verdict — valid / invalid / risky / unknown
• reasons — human-readable explanation
• syntax_ok, disposable, mx[], is_role — per-layer results
• smtp_status, smtp_code — mailbox handshake outcome

Errors & limits

MCP / AI agents

Email Verify exposes a native Model Context Protocol tool so AI agents verify recipients directly, with no glue code:

• Endpoint: POST https://email-verify.simplebusinesssuite.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP)
• Auth: Authorization: Bearer evk_... (or X-API-Key)
• Tool: verify_email — input: an email string; output: verdict, reasons, check details, remaining credits

Each MCP call costs 1 credit and runs the syntax, disposable-domain, MX, and role-account checks. For the full live SMTP mailbox handshake, call POST /api/verify and poll the job as above.

Webhooks & billing

Billing runs on Stripe. Subscribe or buy a pack from your dashboard; subscription renewals grant fresh monthly credits automatically via webhook. Pack credits never expire. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime from the Stripe customer portal linked in your dashboard.
